Volume Flow Rate

Volume flow rate is the amount of volume flow in a unit of time. We can simply get it by dividing the volume and the time takes to transfer the volume.

And you can calculate the volume flow rate using the mass flow rate as well. By dividing the mass flow rate by the density of the mass, you can get the volume flow rate.

Example Problem

Imagine you’re calculating the volume flow rate of a pipeline. So, you fill a 4-liter water bucket and calculate the amount of time it takes to fill the bucket. If the recorded time is 80 seconds, calculate the mass flow rate of the pipeline.
